Description of sound

The detachment sounds came about in early April 2008 and deal with the issues of stress, tension and anxiety  that may surface when we are under pressure to be or behave in  a  certain way or to  meet deadlines and specific time frames.

How this sound came about

The Detachment sounds came about through a number of conversations which I had with Susan over the week of the beginning of April 2008. Having given ourselves a series of deadlines to have the Sounds from Source sites up and running, we had been bombarded with other issues and the creation of a number of other related or associated web sites all at the same time. [Nothing quite like being gluttons for punishment] and we have been juggling many business and personal issues around between us.

Susan’s sound advice to me  a few days before writing this sound was that I should ‘detach’ and wouldn’t that make a great sound? Followed by ‘No pressure mind you! but when are you going to write it’ or words to that effect.

And so here it is, written on the 9th of April, along with two other sounds on the same day. Have I told you that Susan is a hard taskmaster? However having said that, I will admit that she is harder on herself than she is on anyone else.

Comment from Susan - Most of us have been told of the value of detachment - but how many of us remember good advice or use good judgement - when one is in the middle of turmoil.  Happily, now with a push of a button - even in the midst of turmoil - we can be assisted to reach detachment.  And then of course, we depart from turmoil and can allow in a little calm and order.  A timely sound indeed.
