Description of sound

The Accepting Love sounds were developed to address the many issues that we experience as humans of not allowing our selves to accept love in our lives. This can often be as a result of feeling that we do not deserve, or are unworthy of love in its many forms.

Restricting love was and still is, often used as punishment by being withheld, eg If you aren’t good I wont love you etc, which is often said to children.  Or children’s beliefs that if they are refused something they want then they are not actually loved.

How this sound came about

The Accepting Love sounds were developed to deal with the many issues which arose with clients of not feeling deserving of or even being able to accept love. Again in my own life there was a distinct lack of expressed love, eg physical closeness hugs and kisses, although a plethora of “bought” expressions of caring.

Also a comment from my Father, now long passed away, but obviously from the era he grew up in “that people who gave to you were expecting something in return”.

So if some one offered Love or what passed for it, what might they expect in return.  My own history of “convenient relationships” has been a perfect example of this, and Trevor, my new husband tells me that I used to get my “Love from my clients because it was safer for me”. I personally believe that he was very right.

Comment from Susan - This sound also helps you accept love from yourself.  So many of us unfairly judge ourselves and deem ourselves lacking and therefore unlovable - for us to accept and give love freely to anyone else is difficult if we can’t accept our own love.  This sound helps you expand your willingness and ability to accept love from yourself and others.  On another level, it is also a good bonding sound if you are starting a new project.
